Dr. Deena Tajfirouz

Deena A. Tajfirouz, MD, is a neuro-ophthalmologist at Mayo Clinic who evaluates and treats visual symptoms arising from neurologic disease. Working closely with colleagues in neurology, neurosurgery, and ophthalmology, she helps patients navigate conditions such as optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy, intracranial hypertension, pituitary tumor–related vision changes, and disorders of the neuromuscular junction. Dr. Tajfirouz is board-certified in neurology and practices in Rochester, Minnesota.

Her care emphasizes careful history-taking, targeted testing, and clear communication about diagnosis and treatment options. She has particular interests in inflammatory and autoimmune neuro-ophthalmic disorders and vascular conditions affecting the optic nerve and visual pathways. Dr. Tajfirouz completed neuro-ophthalmology fellowship and neurology residency at Mayo Clinic after medical school at Saint Louis University, with earlier graduate study in physiology and biophysics.
