Meet Dr. David Judson Browning

David J. Browning, MD is a retina specialist at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. He focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusions, performing advanced procedures including intravitreal injections, retinal laser, and vitrectomy. Dr. Browning finds intellectual challenge in the eye diseases he confronts and values the long-term relationships he develops with his patients, earning trust over the course of many visits. He believes in taking care of each patient as if they were a family member, applying the golden rule to his practice.

Dr. Browning treats only adults and provides in-person care. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has extensive training including an internship in internal medicine and residency in ophthalmology at Duke University, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Miami.
