Dr. David Young

Dr. David Young is a pediatric ophthalmologist who has been in private practice in Hawaii since 2003, initially at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. He has been consecutively voted one of Hawaii's Best Doctors by HONOLULU Magazine since 2010. Dr. Young comes from a family of pediatricians and has always wanted to help children, finding ophthalmology to be a fascinating field that combines his interest in helping kids with high-tech treatments.

Raised in Hawaii, Dr. Young graduated from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital and then pursued a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania/Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is committed to providing a fun and engaging experience for his young patients while ensuring their parents that their child's best interest is at the heart of his care.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Young enjoys basketball and kettlebell exercises. He serves as a board member of the nonprofit DOJO RITAH and the Directors of Physicians Exchange of Honolulu. He and his wife of 25 years have two sons and are deeply rooted in the Hawaiian community.
