About Me
Dr. Alex Kilgore is an ophthalmologist who earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2020, graduating first in his class. He completed a transitional year internship at Unity Health in Searcy, Arkansas, and then returned to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for his ophthalmology residency, serving as chief resident in his final year.
Dr. Kilgore is a member of several professional societies, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Arkansas Medical Society. His dedication to eye care has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Chief Resident of the Year award from the UAMS Department of Ophthalmology and the John P. Shock, M.D. Student Award for Community Service in Ophthalmology.
He has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in leading ophthalmology journals and has presented over 20 clinical case studies and surgical topics at academic conferences. Dr. Kilgore is committed to giving back, having served as a student coordinator for community-based eye care clinics and participated in surgical and medical mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala.
