About Me
Daniel H. Nelson, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who focuses on cornea and external disease, vision correction, and cataract surgery. He helps patients address blurred vision and corneal conditions with thoughtful, individualized recommendations that may include medical therapy, ongoing monitoring, or surgical care.
Dr. Nelson earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He completed an internship at Earl K. Long Memorial Hospital and ophthalmology residency training at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, then pursued fellowship training in cornea and external disease at Eye Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He performs cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and corneal transplantation, and he prioritizes clear communication so patients understand their options and feel confident in the plan for their eye health.
