About Me
Dr. Claudia Castiblanco is an ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of ocular inflammation, including uveitis and scleritis. She serves as the Director of the Uveitis Service and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Montefiore-Einstein. Her clinical practice focuses on both pediatric and adult patients with inflammatory eye conditions, providing comprehensive care for these complex diseases.
Dr. Castiblanco completed her medical degree at Yale School of Medicine and then pursued a residency in ophthalmology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She further specialized through a uveitis fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution. Her extensive training allows her to offer advanced medical and surgical management for patients with uveitis and other inflammatory eye disorders.
Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Castiblanco is actively involved in research aimed at improving the evaluation and management of uveitis. She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Foster Ocular Immunology Society, which keeps her at the forefront of her field.
