Meet Dr. Christopher Nathaniel Roybal

Dr. Christopher Nathaniel Roybal is a board-certified retina specialist and the founder of Retina Consultants of New Mexico. A native of Mora, New Mexico, he is dedicated to bringing world-class retina care to his home state. He completed his MD and PhD at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Iowa. His research has focused on gene and stem cell therapies for retinal diseases, including macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa.

Dr. Roybal believes in constantly seeking better ways to care for patients, combining scientific innovation with compassion. He treats a wide range of retinal conditions, from macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy to retinal detachments and vein occlusions. His approach is patient-centered, aiming to restore vision and improve lives through cutting-edge treatments and personalized care.
