Meet Dr. Christopher Compton
About Me
Dr. Christopher J. Compton is an ophthalmologist and an assistant professor at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he teaches in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. His clinical practice focuses on complex conditions of the eyelids and orbits, including eyelid malposition, orbital tumors, and thyroid eye disease. He brings specialized expertise in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery to his patients, having completed advanced fellowship training in this subspecialty.
Dr. Compton earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at Baptist Health System-Princeton, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He further honed his skills through a fellowship in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery at the University of Louisville Hospital.
He provides care at several UofL Health locations, including the Springs Medical Center in Louisville and the Kentucky Lions Eye Center. Dr. Compton is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and is actively involved in the education of future ophthalmologists.
