About Me
Dr. Christopher Komanski is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the vitreous and retina, including conditions like macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal tears and detachments. A Florida native, he earned his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine, where he received the award for Best Ophthalmology student. He also holds degrees in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of Central Florida and a degree in Bioengineering Innovation and Design from John Hopkins University.
He completed his residency and served as chief resident at Wake Forest University, followed by a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City. During his training, he was recognized with awards for best ophthalmology resident and best ophthalmology fellow. Dr. Komanski finds meaning in patient care, whether improving vision or helping manage difficult eye diseases, and he enjoys using advanced technology to help people see better.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Komanski is an avid adventurer who enjoys mountain biking, kitesurfing, and fishing, often spending time outdoors with his two sons.
