About Me
Dr. Krieger is a staff ophthalmologist at the National Eye Institute specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. She graduated summa cum laude with honors in biology from the College of Charleston and earned her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She served 15 years in the Air Force, including three years as a flight surgeon, and completed her ophthalmology residency through the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining NEI, she spent eight years in clinical practice at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, Maryland.
During her military career, Dr. Krieger's research focused on infections after refractive surgery, corneal wound healing, and corneal crosslinking for degenerative corneal conditions. She served as an instructor for the Military Ocular Trauma Course and the Expeditionary Craniofacial Trauma Course and was a contributing editor to the “Eye Trauma: Initial Care” clinical practice guidelines.
