About Me
Dr. Carlo Rob Bernardino is an oculoplastic surgeon at Vantage Eye Center, specializing in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and orbit. He provides care for conditions such as eyelid and orbital tumors, tear duct dysfunction, thyroid eye disease, and rehabilitation after the loss of an eye. Dr. Bernardino joined Vantage Eye in 2010, bringing oculoplastics expertise to the Monterey area.
He completed his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, followed by residency and chief residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital. His advanced training includes a fellowship in oculoplastics, ocular oncology, and ophthalmic pathology at Harvard's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Prior to his current role, Dr. Bernardino served as an assistant professor at Emory University and as associate professor and director of oculoplastics at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bernardino is an active fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He has contributed to the field through authoring scientific papers, book chapters, and the textbook "Yale Guide to Ophthalmic Surgery," and has served as a reviewer for ophthalmic journals.
