About Me
Brian J. Forbes, MD, PhD, is an attending surgeon in the Division of Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where he provides specialized care for children with a range of eye conditions. He serves as the ophthalmology point person for children with craniofacial disorders and also sees patients with complex strabismus, 22q deletion syndrome-related ocular findings, and basic eye issues requiring surgery.
Dr. Forbes is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and directs the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigative Group's studies at CHOP. His research interests include assessing ocular injuries associated with abusive head trauma and the mechanisms of retinal hemorrhages in traumatic brain injuries. He sees patients at CHOP's Main Campus, as well as at the Specialty Care Centers in Brandywine Valley and Exton.
