About Me
Dr. Benjamin Erickson is a specialist in Ophthalmology, specifically in Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, who has joined the Santa Clara Department of Ophthalmology and the Northern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group. He brings extensive experience from his previous role as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Associate Residency Program Director at Stanford’s Byers Eye Institute, where he maintains a teaching affiliation. His practice philosophy is centered on working within an integrated team environment to deliver excellent, value-based clinical and surgical care, a principle he finds deeply embedded within the Kaiser Permanente organization.
His clinical interests and expertise include surgery of the eyelids, brow and mid-face, orbital trauma and tumors, thyroid eye disease, and Mohs reconstruction. He values collaboration with skilled colleagues in Ear, Nose & Throat, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Dermatology to provide complex multidisciplinary care. He is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is accepting new patients by referral.
Dr. Erickson completed his medical education at the Yale School of Medicine and his residency and a two-year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. An avid competitive cyclist, he is the current age group Northern California Nevada criterium champion and enjoys spending time outdoors in the Bay Area with his family.
