About Me
Alexander Davis, MD, PhD serves as an Associate Professor and the Director of the Cornea and External Disease Service at the University of New Mexico. He also holds the position of Residency Program Director, overseeing the training of future ophthalmologists. Dr. Davis brings a strong academic background to his practice, having earned his Ph.D. in 2007 and M.D. in 2011 from the University of New Mexico, following a B.A. in Biological Sciences in 2002.
He completed his Ophthalmology Residency in 2015 at the University of Texas Medical Branch and further specialized with a Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery Fellowship in 2016 at the University of Minnesota. This extensive training equips him to handle complex eye conditions with precision and care.
Dr. Davis specializes in cornea and external disease, comprehensive ophthalmology, ocular trauma with anterior segment reconstruction, secondary lens placement, and complex cataract surgery. His expertise allows him to provide comprehensive eye care, particularly for patients with corneal disorders or in need of advanced surgical interventions.
