Dr. Alan Stern

Dr. Alan L. Stern is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and corneal surgery. With over thirty years of experience in ophthalmic surgery, he has developed particular expertise in small incision cataract surgery, laser cataract surgery, and corneal transplantation. He also performs laser vision correction (LASIK) and treats diseases of the cornea and anterior segment.

Dr. Stern is board certified and re-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and as Chief of Ophthalmology at Hospital for Special Care. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut and the Medical Director of the Connecticut Eye Bank.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Stern is a founding member of Precision LASIK Group and serves on the board of Vision Health International, an organization that provides eye care and surgery to underserved populations in Central and South America. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
