Meet Dr. Tieu Vy Hoang Nguyen

Dr. Vy T. Nguyen is a board-certified medical retina specialist with Retina Consultants of Texas. Fluent in English and Vietnamese, she cares for adults with a wide range of retinal and macular conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusions, and complications of posterior vitreous detachment. Dr. Nguyen graduated from Northwestern University and earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After an internship at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, she completed ophthalmology residency at Boston University/Boston Medical Center and advanced fellowship training in medical retina at the Jules Stein and Doheny Eye Institute at UCLA. She sees patients across multiple RCTX locations, including Sugar Land, and is committed to timely access to injections, laser treatments, and imaging. Dr. Nguyen takes a thoughtful, step-by-step approach—reviewing test results together and tailoring a plan that balances effectiveness and convenience—to help protect and preserve vision.
