Meet Dr. Thomas Kandl
About Me
Dr. Thomas Kandl is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He provides functional and cosmetic care for conditions affecting the eyelids, tear-drainage system, orbit, and the upper and mid-face, combining precise surgical technique with an emphasis on restoring comfort, vision protection, and a natural appearance.
After completing undergraduate studies at Wofford College, Dr. Kandl earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed ophthalmology residency training at Rutgers University and pursued additional fellowship training in Global Blindness Prevention through the University of Nebraska, including clinical and teaching work in developing countries. He then completed a 2-year ASOPRS fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Kandl has participated in research and has published and presented at national meetings.
