About Me
Dr. Sam Sato is a board certified ophthalmologist with a specialty in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, but he sees both general and pediatric patients. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in mathematics at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and also holds a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Case Western University and a Masters of Clinical Chemistry from Cleveland State University. Dr. Sato earned his Medical Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State.
He was a professor at the University of Arizona in both the department of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics, serving as Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Director of the Ophthalmology Residency program in charge of teaching. Dr. Sato opened his private practice in 1989 and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the Arizona Medical Association, and the Pima County Medical Association. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and seven grandchildren, and his hobbies include golf, travel, and scuba diving.
