About Me
Dr. R. Jeffrey Hofmann is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. His practice includes both functional and cosmetic procedures, such as laser surgery and eyelid surgery, to address a range of conditions affecting the eye area. He serves patients at Rhode Island Eye Institute and holds staff positions at Rhode Island Hospital, Miriam Hospital, and Hasbro Children's Hospital, as well as serving as Director of the Oculoplastic Surgery Clinic at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Providence.
Dr. Hofmann is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School, where he is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. He has received multiple teaching awards from students and residents over the course of his career. He earned his undergraduate degree summa cum laude and his medical degree with distinction from Tulane University. He completed an internship at Barnes Hospital and a residency in ophthalmology at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by advanced fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Medical School. Dr. Hofmann has been a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1987.
