About Me
Dr. Rothman is a LASIK and refractive specialist with decades of experience in laser vision correction, corneal care, and external eye disease. His work has included surgical instrument design and research focused on improving outcomes after corneal transplantation, including tools developed to help reduce post-transplant astigmatism.
He trained as a research fellow at the Eye Research Institute at Harvard Medical School and completed ophthalmology residency at Center for Sight at Georgetown University Medical Center. He then pursued fellowship training in refractive surgery, cornea, and external disease at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. As one of the early excimer-laser–certified surgeons, he has performed tens of thousands of laser refractive procedures, with a focus on careful screening, modern technology, and patient education.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Northwestern University.
