Meet Dr. Preston Howard Blomquist

Dr. Preston Blomquist is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and Distinguished Teaching Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School, completed a transitional year internship at St. Joseph's Hospital, and an ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine.

His clinical and research interests include cataract surgery and ocular trauma. Dr. Blomquist is deeply committed to resident education, having received several prestigious teaching awards, including the Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award and the Straatsma Award for Excellence in Resident Education. He also serves as the editor of Practical Ophthalmology, a manual for beginning residents. He sees patients at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
