Meet Dr. Moises Alexander Chica

Dr. Moises A. Chica is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery. He has been providing care in San Antonio since 2007, focusing on conditions such as retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes. Dr. Chica is dedicated to the clinical and surgical management of these complex eye conditions, staying current through involvement in clinical research trials.

After earning his medical degree from UTMB Galveston in 2000, Dr. Chica completed an internal medicine internship at UT Health San Antonio and an ophthalmology residency at UTMB Galveston, where he served as chief resident. He then pursued a fellowship in surgical retina at Retina & Vitreous of Texas in Houston. Dr. Chica is fluent in English and Spanish.
