Dr. Michael Gingold

Dr. Gingold is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal system. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and then pursued advanced fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic, orbital and reconstructive surgery at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.

Dr. Gingold holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). He performs surgery at several accredited surgery centers in the Hartford area.

As one of only a few hundred surgeons in the United States who have completed specialized training in eye plastic surgery, Dr. Gingold offers expert care for conditions and cosmetic concerns affecting the eyelids, tear ducts, and eye sockets. His advanced training includes a year of extensive oculoplastic surgery training, qualifying examinations, and a scientific thesis.
