Dr. Mauricio Chavez

Dr. Mauricio R. Chavez is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He diagnoses and treats a range of conditions affecting the eyelids, tear ducts, and orbit, and performs cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and brow. Dr. Chavez has a special interest in endoscopic brow and tear duct surgery, offering minimally invasive options for patients.

After completing his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, Dr. Chavez pursued a two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University – Casey Eye Institute. He has authored textbook chapters and journal articles in his field. Dr. Chavez is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and brings his expertise to patients at Vancouver Eye Care.
