Dr. Karolinne Maia Rocha is a sub-subspecialist in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. She has received numerous awards for excellence in ophthalmology, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Achievement Award and the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine Teaching Excellence Recognition Award. Dr. Rocha is actively engaged in clinical research, having published over 100 scientific works, and she contributes to the field as a regular reviewer for leading ophthalmic journals.

As a member of the executive subcommittee of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, she is involved in teaching at national and international conferences. Dr. Rocha has served as a course instructor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology's laser refractive skills transfer course since 2009 and teaches specialized courses on corneal collagen cross-linking and corneal topography.
