Dr. Jason Chancer

Dr. Jason Chancer is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who cares for a wide range of conditions affecting the eye and surrounding structures. Born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and raised in North Carolina, he returned to the Caribbean after college as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. While serving as an interpreter for visiting physicians and surgeons, he decided to pursue medicine.

He earned his medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine internship before finishing ophthalmology residency training at Summa Health System in Northeast Ohio. In practice, he provides routine eye exams — including for people with diabetes — and diagnoses and treats eye disease using both medical therapy and surgical procedures. He has also volunteered in clinics serving uninsured patients and joined teams providing vision screening and eye care abroad.
