Dr. James Gigantelli

James W. Gigantelli, MD, FACS, is an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in oculoplastics and orbital surgery. He is currently a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where he sees patients for a variety of conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal system.

His surgical expertise includes oculoplastic reconstruction, orbital surgery, and ocular oncology. Dr. Gigantelli has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as Chair of Ophthalmology at Marshall University and as Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and provides comprehensive care for patients with complex orbital and oculoplastic conditions.
