About Me
Dr. Erik Johnson is an oculoplastic and reconstructive ophthalmic surgeon at Raleigh Ophthalmology. He cares for functional and cosmetic concerns around the eyes, including droopy eyelids, eyelid lesions, orbital problems, and age-related eyelid changes. Patients see him for procedures that can improve visual function, relieve discomfort, and enhance appearance, and he collaborates closely with dermatology and other specialties when reconstruction is needed after skin cancer removal. Dr. Johnson sees patients in the Raleigh, North Raleigh, and Clayton offices.
He completed an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Alabama Ophthalmology Associates/University of Alabama at Birmingham after ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University and an internal medicine internship at Duke. He earned his MD and BA from Georgetown University. Dr. Johnson’s approach emphasizes clear communication, tailored surgical planning, and natural-looking results so patients feel well-informed and confident at every step.
