About Me
Dr. E. Scott Parma is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal medicine and surgery. He has been in private practice in Montgomery since 2004, bringing extensive training and experience in all areas of medical and surgical vitreoretinal disease.
Before his medical career, Dr. Parma earned an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration. He spent eight years designing space computer hardware, including an integral piece for a geosynchronous satellite system deployed in 1994 and a missile video processing system for the United States Navy that simulated characteristics of the human retina. This unique engineering background informs his approach to patient care.
Dr. Parma is active in his professional and local community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology and the Board of Trustees of Trinity Presbyterian School, and he plays the trumpet in numerous community and civic organizations.
