About Me
Dr. Dana F. Graichen is an ophthalmologist who concentrates on retina eye care, helping patients manage macular degeneration and other diseases that affect the back of the eye. He is known for bringing new therapies into clinical practice and for taking time to explain complex retinal problems in understandable terms.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts (1979) and his medical degree from Tufts University (1983). After an ophthalmology residency at the USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, he completed fellowship training in ophthalmic pathology (1991) and in vitreoretinal disease and surgery (1992). Dr. Graichen was the first physician in York County to offer Macugen® for certain cases of macular degeneration, and since joining Associated Eyecare in 1994 he has helped expand state-of-the-art retinal care for patients in southern Maine and New Hampshire. He is board certified in ophthalmology.
