Meet Dr. Brent R Hayek

Dr. Brent Hayek is an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon at North Georgia Eye Associates, serving patients in the Gainesville area. He brings over a decade of expertise in the care of adults and children, specializing in reconstructive and cosmetic procedures of the eyelids, face, orbit, and tear drainage system.

Dr. Hayek graduated summa cum laude from Oral Roberts University and earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa School of Medicine. He completed an internship in General Surgery, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at Loyola School of Medicine in Chicago, and then pursued fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. His research focuses on innovative drug therapy for thyroid eye disease and facial fat transfer techniques for peri-orbital rejuvenation.

Committed to advancing global eye health, Dr. Hayek has provided clinical care and participated in medical training teams in multiple countries, including Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains active membership in several professional societies.
