Meet Dr. Austin Ryan Henkel

Austin R. Henkel, MD, is a cataract surgeon and general ophthalmologist with Eye Center South, caring for patients along the Emerald Coast and surrounding communities. He offers thorough cataract evaluation, modern surgical techniques and a full range of lens implant options, including the Light Adjustable Lens, to match vision goals and lifestyle. In addition to surgical care, Dr. Henkel provides comprehensive medical eye care and coordinates closely with the practice’s subspecialists when needed.

Dr. Henkel earned his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed internship at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare and ophthalmology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where he trained in the medical and surgical management of common eye diseases. A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he strives to deliver efficient, friendly visits and results patients can see in their daily lives.
