Meet Dr. Anne Elizabeth Baranano

Dr. Anne Barañano is a board-certified retina specialist and Gulf Coast native who provides advanced retinal care for patients along the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coast. She specializes in treating a range of retinal conditions, including retinal tears, holes, and detachments, macular degeneration, uveitis, and diabetic retinal detachments. Dr. Barañano is passionate about helping her community preserve and restore vision through leading-edge retina care and is an active researcher with published work on Optical Coherence Tomography for age-related macular degeneration.

Dr. Barañano values an active partnership with her patients, taking time to educate them and their families about their conditions and treatment options. She collaborates with primary care physicians, cardiologists, and nephrologists to manage systemic health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure, which can affect vision. She strives to provide the highest quality care with compassion and dedication, with a special interest in uveitis and complex vitreoretinal surgery.

Her journey into medicine began during medical mission work in Guatemala, which inspired her to pursue both her medical degree and her passion for patient-centered care.
