About Me
Andre J. Witkin, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon. He provides comprehensive retinal care for conditions including macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Witkin is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center, where he also serves in several leadership roles, including Vice Chair of Surgical Services and Director of the Retina Service.
Dr. Witkin's clinical and research expertise includes retinal imaging, the treatment of exudative and non-exudative age-related macular degeneration, central serous chorioretinopathy, and the management of intraocular medication side effects. He has been the primary investigator on numerous clinical trials and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Witkin is also the co-lead editor of the book "Age-related Macular Degeneration: Current Management."
He is a recipient of the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Honor Award from the American Society of Retinal Specialists. Dr. Witkin is fluent in French and conversant in Spanish, enhancing his ability to serve a diverse patient population.
