About Me

Dr. Albert T. Vitale is an ophthalmologist at the John A. Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis and other infections and inflammatory diseases of the eye. He is one of only a handful of specialists in the country with dual fellowship training in ocular immunology and inflammatory disease as well as vitreoretinal surgery, and the only provider of such expertise in the Mountain West.

Dr. Vitale's clinical expertise includes managing uveitis, ocular inflammatory disease, retinal vascular disease, and age-related macular degeneration. He also treats ocular manifestations of systemic diseases and employs novel therapeutic agents and advanced drug delivery systems. Dr. Vitale has co-authored the definitive textbook on uveitis, Diagnosis and Treatment of Uveitis, and is actively involved in research on ocular inflammatory conditions.

Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Vitale serves as a Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the University of Utah. He provides comprehensive care for complex eye conditions, working closely with patients to preserve vision and improve quality of life.
