About Me
Dr. Afua A. Shin is an ophthalmologist with specialized expertise in cornea and external diseases. She completed her fellowship training at the University of California Davis, focusing on advanced care for corneal conditions. Dr. Shin's medical journey began with an undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University, followed by medical school at Washington University in St. Louis.
After earning her medical degree, Dr. Shin undertook an internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Her training equipped her with comprehensive skills in eye care, leading to her fellowship in cornea and external diseases. Dr. Shin joined the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin in 2019, where she provides dedicated treatment for patients with corneal issues, dry eye, and related external eye diseases.
She is committed to offering personalized care, utilizing both medical and surgical approaches to improve her patients' vision and eye health. Dr. Shin's background includes international research experience in Japan, contributing to her holistic approach to ophthalmology.
