Meet Dr. Rahul Komati

Dr. Rahul Komati is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist who cares for patients with complex medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. Raised in the California Bay Area, he began his medical training through an accelerated program, earning his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

He completed ophthalmology residency training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he served as Chief Resident and received the David Barsky Research Award. He then pursued advanced subspecialty training with a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Komati is committed to helping patients understand their diagnosis and options so they can make confident decisions about protecting and maximizing vision. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international meetings, and values long-term, supportive relationships with the people he treats.
