Meet Dr. Philip J Ferrone

Dr. Philip J. Ferrone is a retina specialist at Vitreoretinal Consultants of NY, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical retinal diseases in both pediatric and adult patients. With extensive experience in vitreoretinal surgery and ocular trauma, he has been actively teaching residents for over 28 years and has served as Chief Resident and faculty at Duke University Eye Center.

Dr. Ferrone is the immediate past President of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and serves as the Director of Clinical Research at VRC. He has been a principal investigator in over 50 national clinical trials exploring new treatments for retinal disease, and he regularly presents original research at national and international meetings. Dr. Ferrone has received multiple honors from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and he holds a professorship in Ophthalmology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
