About Me

Dr. Neal Adams is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in retina care, helping patients with complex retinal conditions and vision-threatening retinal disorders. He brings decades of academic and clinical leadership, having served as Chair of Ophthalmology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and previously as Chief of the Division of Visual Physiology at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yale University and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Adams completed ophthalmology residency and retina fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute. He is known for research that helped define “retinal ciliopathies,” and he continues to support advances in retinal medicine through scholarship and education. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Eye Reports and is the author of the book Healthy Vision, and he has shared eye-health expertise with national media outlets.
