Dr. Michael Compton

Dr. Michael W. Compton is a board-certified ophthalmologist who hails from Syracuse, New York. In pursuit of a sunnier climate and extended opportunities for golf, he relocated to the South and has established his home in the Triangle region since 2011. He shares his life with his wife Laura, who practices as a pediatrician.

His educational journey began with an undergraduate degree from Villanova University. He then attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine, graduating in 2010. Following medical school, Dr. Compton completed an internship in surgery at the University of Virginia. He advanced his specialization by undertaking ophthalmology training at the University of North Carolina, which he finished in 2014. During his residency, he was appointed Chief Resident for the period from 2013 to 2014, demonstrating leadership in his field.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Compton enjoys spending time with his family, exploring local farmer's markets, and hiking with their Border Collie. His move to North Carolina reflects his preference for an active lifestyle and a community-oriented environment.
