About Me
Dr. Michael Neimkin is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He focuses on surgical procedures of the eyelids, eyebrows, forehead, orbits, tear ducts, and midface. With extensive training and experience, he has performed over 8,000 surgeries addressing both cosmetic and reconstructive needs in these delicate areas.
Dr. Neimkin completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama's Callahan Eye Foundation, where he was elected chief resident by his peers. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in oculofacial plastic, cosmetic, reconstructive, and oncologic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. He is one of only a few hundred surgeons in the United States to be accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS).
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Neimkin is active in the academic community, having published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and scientific lectures. He serves as a reviewer for several leading ophthalmic journals, contributing to the advancement of his specialty.
