Meet Dr. Michael A. Burnstine

Dr. Michael Burnstine is an oculofacial plastic surgeon who focuses on both functional and aesthetic surgery of the eyelids, orbits, and upper face. He currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California Roski Eye Institute, where he teaches ophthalmology residents and fellows the finer points of oculofacial surgery. Dr. Burnstine is also the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) Fellowship Program Director at Keck Medicine of USC.

Dr. Burnstine takes a personalized approach to patient care, focusing on making individual connections to help define and deliver each patient's desired aesthetic and functional results. His clinical expertise includes aesthetic facial implants, orbital trauma management, and tumors in the orbit and eyelids. He has authored many peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on these topics and served as Chief Editor of the textbook Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery of the Upper Face.

Known in the community as the doctor's doctor, Dr. Burnstine lectures locally, nationally, and internationally on oculofacial surgery techniques. He has trained numerous oculofacial plastic surgery fellows, ophthalmology residents, and medical students throughout his career.
