Meet Dr. Matthew Melton Cole

Dr. Matthew M. Cole is a retina specialist who is passionate about utilizing emerging technologies to treat diseases of the retina. He finds the rapidly advancing field of retina care particularly exciting and is dedicated to providing the most innovative treatments available. Dr. Cole understands that the fear of losing eyesight can be a daily burden for many patients, and he focuses on calming those fears while working to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Cole believes in treating patients as he would his own family, placing a strong emphasis on listening and fostering a healthy dialogue. This approach helps patients feel more comfortable with their treatment decisions. He completed his medical degree at East Tennessee State University and then pursued internship, residency, and a medical retina fellowship at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Cole sees patients at multiple locations in the Knoxville area, including offices in Farragut, Maryville, and Sevierville.
