About Me
Dr. Joseph Giacometti is an ophthalmologist specializing in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Northeastern Eye Institute. He joined the practice in 2019 and sees patients at the Scranton and Forty Fort offices. His clinical focus includes functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery, treatment of tumors around the eye and eye socket, surgical repair after trauma, and management of tear drainage system problems.
Dr. Giacometti completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale University, where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
In addition to surgical care, Dr. Giacometti offers non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures including botulinum toxin and facial filler injections. He previously practiced in the Philadelphia area and served as an attending surgeon at Wills Eye Hospital, contributing to resident and medical student education.
