About Me
Dr. Bortz is an ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastics, orbital surgery, and ocular trauma at Westchester Medical Center. He has cared for and performed surgery on more than 7,000 patients, focusing on conditions affecting the eyelids, tear ducts, and the area around the eyes.
His clinical work includes treating orbital fractures, periocular trauma, orbital and periocular tumors, infections, eyelid malpositions, and lacrimal disorders. He also offers periocular cosmetic surgery. Dr. Bortz serves as Director of Oculoplastics, Orbital Surgery, and Ocular Trauma Service and has been Chief of Oculoplastic Surgery at Westchester Medical Center for 30 years.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bortz is Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College, where he teaches and supervises residents. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Westchester County and received a top instructor award in the ophthalmology residency program.
