About Me
Christopher T. Westfall, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a professor of ophthalmology and the dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). With over 20 years of service at UAMS, he has held numerous leadership roles, including chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and director of the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute. He is also the holder of the Pat Walker Endowed Chair in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Westfall specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, providing advanced care for conditions affecting the eyelids, orbits, and tear ducts. His clinical expertise includes serving as chief of oculoplastic surgical services at UAMS Medical Center, John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, and Arkansas Children’s. He is dedicated to educating future physicians and ensuring high-quality medical care for Arkansans.
Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Westfall completed his medical degree at Ohio State University and his ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School. His military service includes retiring as a colonel and serving as chief consultant in ophthalmology to the U.S. Air Force Surgeon General.
