Dr. Arlene V. Drack is a clinician-scientist who specializes in juvenile inherited eye diseases, focusing on developing novel treatments for children with genetic vision disorders. She serves as the Ronald V. Keech Professor of Pediatric Genetic Eye Disease Research at the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Her clinical practice encompasses the full scope of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, and she runs specialized genetic eye disease clinics for patients and families.
Dr. Drack's research involves subretinal injection therapies for retinal degeneration and participation in human clinical trials for retinal disorders. She co-directs both clinical and rodent electroretinogram services at the university, helping to assess visual function in patients and research models.
