Dr. Somya Chowdhary is an ophthalmologist who specializes in neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, and the management and treatment of strabismus. She cares for children and adults with complex conditions that affect eye movements, alignment, and the visual pathways connecting the eyes and brain. Dr. Chowdhary joined the WVU Eye Institute and the WVU Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences faculty in 2022, where she serves as an assistant professor. She completed advanced fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology and inherited retinal diseases, as well as a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at UPMC. Her goal is to work closely with families to understand how vision problems affect daily activities, provide thoughtful explanations, and offer both surgical and non-surgical options when appropriate. She aims to partner with patients over time to protect vision and support comfortable, single vision.

Dr. Clinton Jordan is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who cares for both adults and children with a wide range of eye conditions. He earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University School of Medicine. His training provided broad experience in the diagnosis and management of cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and urgent eye problems. Dr. Jordan takes time to listen to each patient’s concerns, review examination findings, and explain treatment options in clear, straightforward terms. He is committed to helping patients protect and improve their vision through preventive eye exams as well as medical and surgical care when needed. Whether a patient is coming in for a routine checkup, a new diagnosis, or a second opinion, Dr. Jordan strives to create a calm, welcoming environment and to partner with patients and families in every stage of care.

Dr. Matthew D. Thompson is a cataract surgeon who enjoys helping patients see clearly and comfortably at every stage of life. Raised in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, he brings a friendly, down-to-earth approach to care and uses modern, small-incision techniques designed for quick recovery and excellent visual outcomes. Patients appreciate his clear explanations, thoughtful surgical planning, and attention to detail when selecting the right lens option for their lifestyle. Dr. Thompson completed medical school at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and ophthalmology residency training at the University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Eye Institute, where he served as Chief Resident. He sees patients in Charleston, Point Pleasant, and Ripley and partners closely with your primary eye doctor to coordinate care. Outside the clinic, he’s a husband and father who enjoys hiking, fishing, kayaking, traveling, and cheering on college football. Dr. Christian N. Warner is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who cares for adults with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, dry eye, and urgent vision concerns. He offers a range of in-office procedures—including chalazion removal, eyelid lesion excision, nasolacrimal duct probing and irrigation, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), laser peripheral iridotomy, and YAG laser capsulotomy—and performs cataract surgery with advanced technology intraocular lenses. A native of Ironton, Ohio, Dr. Warner completed medical school at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University. He is dedicated to clear explanations and shared decision-making so patients understand their diagnosis and feel comfortable choosing the treatment that suits their goals and lifestyle.

Dr. Allison Bardes is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who loves helping patients see comfortably and confidently. A West Virginia native, she cares for the full spectrum of eye conditions and offers surgical solutions tailored to each person—especially cataract and refractive procedures. Patients describe her as down-to-earth, precise, and attentive from first visit through recovery. Dr. Bardes earned her undergraduate degree at Bridgewater College, attended medical school at West Virginia University, and completed residency at the WVU Eye Institute, where she served as chief resident. Before joining Regional Eye in April 2020, she practiced in Los Angeles and later returned home to serve communities across North Central West Virginia and Western Maryland. She performs cataract surgery with modern lens options and offers laser vision correction, along with ongoing care for glaucoma, dry eye, and general eye health. Outside the office she enjoys time with her family in Morgantown.
