Dr. Alex J. Hansen is a cornea and external disease specialist at Spokane Eye Clinic. He performs corneal transplants, cataract surgery with advanced lens options, and complex anterior segment reconstruction, and cares for patients with a wide range of ocular surface and inflammatory conditions. Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Hansen graduated with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska before earning his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona, where he served as chief resident, then pursued fellowship training in Cornea and External Ocular Disease at the University of Illinois Chicago’s Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. Dr. Hansen joined Spokane Eye Clinic in 2024 and is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Patients appreciate his calm, thorough explanations and collaborative approach to decision-making. Outside the clinic he enjoys rock climbing, cycling, and running, and is excited to care for patients throughout the Inland Northwest.

Dr. Ira A. Perszyk is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist focused on medical and surgical glaucoma management and cataract surgery. He helps patients understand what’s causing vision changes and creates treatment plans that are clear, practical, and tailored to each person’s eye health and long-term goals. He performs both straightforward and complex cataract procedures, advanced glaucoma surgeries, and refractive lens exchange (RLE) for patients seeking lens-based vision correction. Dr. Perszyk values outcomes that patients can feel in everyday life—sharper vision, safer mobility, and greater confidence with work and hobbies. Dr. Perszyk completed ophthalmology residency training at the University of Kentucky and glaucoma fellowship training at the University of South Florida. He earned his medical degree at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Montana.
