Dr. Larissa Gouvea Jose Felicio Da Costa

Charleston, SCLarissa Gouvea, MD, is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at MUSC Health’s Storm Eye Institute with a unique background spanning both pediatric and adult anterior segment care. She treats corneal and ocular surface diseases, performs cataract and refractive procedures, and provides specialized care for children with corneal disorders, pediatric uveitis, and complex anterior segment conditions. Dr. Gouvea completed ophthalmology residency at the Eye Hospital of Paraná in Brazil, followed by cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery fellowship training at the University of Toronto (Toronto Western Hospital) and a dedicated pediatric cornea and external disease fellowship at SickKids. She then pursued an additional fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at MUSC. Recognized with multiple ASCRS Best Paper awards, she is active in research and education, including instructing laser refractive skills courses at the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her practice emphasizes compassionate, age-appropriate care using the latest surgical techniques.

Dr. Nallely Rubi Morales Mancillas

Charleston, SCDr. Nallely Rubi Morales Mancillas is a pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for children with a full spectrum of eye conditions, with special expertise in strabismus and children’s visual development. She evaluates and treats common and complex problems such as crossed eyes, refractive errors, blocked tear ducts, pediatric cataracts, and childhood glaucoma, and coordinates care compassionately with families. Her approach blends advanced diagnostics with medical and surgical options to help each child achieve their best possible vision. Dr. Morales completed two fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus—first at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico and then at UT Southwestern Medical Center/Children’s Medical Center Dallas—following ophthalmology residency at Tecnológico de Monterrey and medical school at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. She speaks English and Spanish and enjoys partnering with families in either language. Her work has included research and teaching, and she was honored with the Pan-American Latin American Scholarship/PAAO Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology.
